STEPP INTERNATIONAL welcomes the delegation of MES in Italy.

MES Association Profile: MES was formed in 1995 and is the successor of the former “Association of Engineers of Burma”. It consist today of 31850 individual members and 57 corporate members. MES is a highly operative organization and assists the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Energy in their engineering works. MES concluded cooperation agreements with several engineering institutions of the ASEAN states. Due to the only recently (2013) abolished European policy of sanctions towards Myanmar, MES had so far no opportunity to join in collaboration agreements with European institutions & companies. MES will play a guiding role in future engineering/architectural projects supported by the international donor Community (ADB, World Bank, EDF etc) as well as  for the modernization  of the local engineering sector.

Visiting Program: The MES Delegation will visit Rome, Ancona, Bologna, Venice and Milan, and would like to meet engineering institutions, industrial and construction companies, consulting engineers and higher education facilities of Italy which are interested in cooperation with Myanmar. Particular areas of interest of MES, but not only, are

  1. Geotechnical engineering; soil investigaton & stabilization
  2. Modern management underground (tunnel) construction
  3. Mechatronics Engineering
  4. Historical site protection and rehabilitation works
  5. Dams, hydro-power & related environmental impact mitigation
  6. Offshore oil & gas supporting services
  7. The Italian high education & vocational education system

These are some images regarding the visit of MES Myanmar, in the Italian companies related to the Polo Tecnologico of Castelfidardo. The MES group visited CBI Europe, GI&E Spa and Fratelli Simonetti.
Those visits was in cooperation with IBEI Srl, with Dr. Aldo Sbraccia, and Mr. Dante Carlini.
